What to do on Election
Day?
(You may want to print this out and bring it with you to the polls)
1. Know
where to go.
If you go to the wrong place you can't vote.
To find your registered polling site call 1-866-OUR-VOTE or log onto
www.mypollingplace.com
2. Bring proper ID.
Bring a photo ID if you have it and/or Social Security card.
3. Review the sample ballot before voting!
Ballots are often confusing and designs vary from election to
election. If you have questions ask your poll worker for help.
4. Check your ballot before finalizing your vote.
If punch cards are not punched out precisely, votes may not be counted.
5. Know your rights! No voter can be turned away!
If there is a question about your eligibility, you nonetheless have the
right to vote on a provisional ballot.
6. Know where to turn for help.
If you experience problems voting, there will be non-partisan helpers
at many polls.
Bring a cell phone, and call one of the non-partisan hotlines, like:
1-866- OUR- VOTE or 1-866-MYVOTE1
7. Be prepared
for long lines.
So long as you are in line before the polls close you are legally
entitled to vote!
