CONCERTS & PARTIES

SHOUT OUT & SHOUT DOWNS

I'll try to keep this brief...

I've told MANY of you all that I'd get back to this eventually!  Feels good to have things rolling again... sorta.  Much like the host issues Cocktails aka 'Sharpie Mini' (<< love it!) mentioned they over at Live Poets we're experiencing, we've had some mad issues over here too.  Just rolling with the punches... and kicks.

Anyhoo... time for the drops!  First of all shout to all that came out for Super Sunday and the Wonder Land Kids Fashion Show featuring celeb kiddie models.  Debra Killings (Lord, I missed your set again!!!) and Lisa McClendon put it down at Super Sunday at the Twelve at Atlantic Station.  It's not often that the ATL folk that really laid the foundation come together like this. Kandi, JD, Joi, Eboni Elektra, Block, Big Boi, Bow Wow, Michael Mauldin... dang, drawing a blank there was so many in the house!  Hosted by my guy Griff and Beyonce from the A-Team morning show at Hot 107.9 as well as my adopted lil' bro, Young Dirty (website is now up ya'll www.youngdirty.net) pulling double duty as co-host for BOTH EVENTS.  Hello!!!  The fashion show was a benefit for the Show Me The Way Foundation which Tashawnya Menefee founded to support kids and teens who've been orphaned primarily by HIV/ AIDS.  A sadly needed, overdue organization.  Also, DTP's Aiyisha Mitchell and everyone that benefited from the Smirnoff Movement Studio at the DTP Complex.  Recaps coming soon...

LEE MAY!!!!  The new and youngest Commissioner of DeKalb County's 5th District... Congratulations again!  Lee is also the "handsome husband" of Robin M. May profiled in Making Moves.  Robin has put a book (The HBCU Guide) together that is that common sense stuff that you forget for going off to college.  If you are starting college this fall and don't get this book, you may as well start off on academic probation!

CONGRATULATIONS and BLESSINGS to Stephanie Patterson (my sanity) & Tony Dayton who were married in Martha's Vineyard this month!!!

A MASSIVE Shout to the New Birf (Birth) crew and all that came out for July 4th and RePresent '06!  MY DAWG Erik Burton, Chandra Currelly (good to see you and Larry again), John Gray and your crazy behind (hope you're on the mend), Sherri Shepherd (another crazy butt), Tia & Tamera (last I heard Taj was at UGA, where was he?), Dirty, Cee Cee Michaela, eDDie Velez, Anna Velez (still haven't put my hands on those pumps yet... grrr.), Robin (that's got boo boo on it... laugh, girl!), Candace, Jai, Renee, Tony, Tangie, Wayne (where ever you are!), Elder Etheridge, Elder Powell, much luv to The Dynamic Divinity Duo of Elder Bernice King (website is up ya'll, check it!  www.berniceking.com... BTW, I did not fall in trying to grab the change! lol) and Elder DeLeice Drane (this thing WILL go down if it kills me! ;-) ) and... I'm forgetting someone... who could it be... dang... can't remember his name... oh yea, Bishop!  ;-)  Bishop Eddie Long has an awesome book that dropped (that was for you, Renee) this month entitled "It's Your Time" - GET IT!

Stephanie Abdullah in Iraq... a publicist 'til the end!  She's in a war zone, but still handling the BS about Bobby's (Brown) performance at the Essence Festival not being on point, Dee Dee Cocheta, Patti Webster, Diane Larche, Nicole Garner (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!), Happy Baby and Marriage to Anashay Murphy, and the too many to name publicists, marketing people and friends out there that make life SO much easier!

Shout Downs... I'm in just too good of a mood to even go there!

Until next time...

Peace & Unceasing Blessings to Everyone!
